Merlin is a British fantasy-adventure television series which is telecasted on BBC One. Julian Jones, Jake Michie, Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps are the developer of Merlin. James Hawes is the director of “Merlin”. An independent production company named Shine Limited produces this series. The court physician of Camelot, Gaius had been requested by Hunith to take Merlin in an apprentice to guide him.
Bradley James as Prince Arthur: Bradley James, promising newcomer fresh out of drama school, plays a role of Prince Arthur in “Merlin.” Before joining the cast of “Merlin,” he had acted in highly successful long running UK drama serial “Lewis” for ITV1. Prince Arthur is the son of King Uther, and future King of Camelot. He is extremely arrogant yet brave and good-hearted. He also worries about the people of Camelot. Since birth, Arthur has been trained to fight and is excellent in combat.
Anthony Head as King Uther: Anthony Head made a debut in American television with “Love in a Cold Climate” series and got a great success. In “Merlin,” he plays a role of Arthur’s father and current king of Camelot. Uther is a ruthless man, people call him tyrant. Despite often being strict towards them, he cares deeply about Camelot and for Arthur as well as Morgana. His hatred of all forms of magic blinds him. Richard Wilson as Gaius: Richard Wilson stars as Gaius on “Merlin.” He is court physician of Camelot. He knows the magical secret of Merlin. Gaius is a sorcerer but he has been banned by the King from using magic, and is something of an alchemist and magical scholar.Actually he is not Merlin’s uncle, only a trusted friend of his mother, although recent controversy concerning Gaius and Merlin’s relationship.
Katie McGrath as Morgana: Katie McGrath plays a role of Morgana in Merlin. Morgana is illegitimate daughter of King Uther. In spite of their class differences, Morgana is best friend with Gwen and Merlin. She is very brave and kind girl. When Morgana was ten, she lost her father by fighting for Uther. She has secret prophetic power, which is called “seer”.
Angel Coulby as Gwen: Angel Coulby is seen in the role of Gwen in this series. Gwen is also known as Guinevere. She is maidservant of Lady Morgana and the daughter of the local blacksmith, Tom. She has an open, friendly, helpful, and forgiving personality. Gwen is cheerful and kind to all she meets regardless of living in poverty and the heavy demands of her job. Gwen finds her true love in Arthur at the end of the second season.

This series tells the story about the relationship of the Arthurian legends of the mythical wizard Merlin and Prince Arthur, but differs from traditional versions of the legend in many ways, especially the characters. Camelot’s mythical kingdom is a fantastical realm of legendary beasts and mysterious people. It is very dangerous world where the ruthless tyrant, Uther Pendragon has banned magic.
Merlin is gifted with extraordinary magical powers. He quickly makes enemies including the heir to Uther’s crown, the headstrong Prince Arthur, when he reaches in the kingdom. Merlin uses his talent to survive and also to open mystical secrets of Camelot with the help of Uther’s wise physician Gaius.
